Solutions Architect

Position: Solutions Architect

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.30pm (with flexi-time and hybrid working options)

Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 (subject to experience)

Role Description:

This is an exciting role for anyone wanting to work at the heart of a mature, dynamic digital agency with a 25 year track record and an excellent client portfolio. The right candidate will have a background in Business Analysis or Product Ownership, including an in-depth technical knowledge of one or more web-based software solutions and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

As a Solutions Architect you’ll be part of the Solutions Team and report to our Solutions Director, Phil. The core of the role is to translate our clients’ many complex needs into workable digital solutions – engaging with external stakeholders and internal teams to scope and agree a solution that satisfies functional and non-functional requirements, with one eye at all times on the project constraints of time and budget. The role often serves as a ‘bridge’ between teams, requiring a broad understanding of technology, user experience, business process and commercials.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our solutions and client relationships. As a Solutions Architect you’ll be central to both, helping others solve problems and making recommendations to deliver greater value and improve project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading requirements capture sessions with client stakeholders including marketing, IT and senior management.
  • Ownership and management of project scope through the Functional Specification.
  • Facilitation of regular release planning sessions, guiding the team through complex business requirements and challenging developer understanding.
  • Support the prospect and existing client sales process, providing ballparks and advice on technical feasibility, supporting proposal writing and occasional pitch presentations.
  • Support QA & testing activity by validating internal and external test plans and their results.

Desirable Skills:

  • Analytical and methodical mindset, able to distil complex subjects into clear, non-technical explanations and be the first to identify areas of risk or uncertainty.
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems, including Sitecore, Optimizely (formerly Episerver), Sitefinity and/or Umbraco.
  • Rounded understanding of modern web development practices and standards, including HTML, CSS, Javascript, REST APIs etc.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits:

  • Health insurance and NEST pension schemes.
  • Bonus holiday scheme, with an additional day for each year with us (up to 5 extra days).
  • Bournemouth town centre based location, in a private office within a vibrant co-working space hosting regular social events, just five minutes walk from the beach!

The right candidate will have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar IT or digital agency role and already be based in Bournemouth or the surrounding area.
