  • Appius shortlisted for DPA Award

Appius is delighted to be shortlisted for a Digital Publishing Award in the Product Development of the Year (software) category for the Traffic England site, previously recognised as website of the week by the Daily Mail.

The Data Publishers Association (DPA) Awards are business publishing’s premier event, conferring status and standing on high-achieving brands, teams and executives.

The Traffic England site is the main Highways Agency site for the communication of current traffic conditions to the public. www.trafficengland.com has over 2 million visits a month and large additional peaks of usage caused by adverse weather conditions. Key features of the site include the Traffic Map, ‘Motorway Traffic Flow’, online viewing of Traffic Cameras. Recently users have been given the ability to personalise all of these aspects to their own ‘saved views’ for the areas and motorway sections that they are most interested in.

Appius has been shortlisted alongside Cision UK and Decisive Media for TrafficEngland.com. The site is innovative, has strong usability and complex bespoke technology integration with real time systems and mapping.

The Awards salute innovation and achievement by leading companies, teams and individuals across the data and digital publishing sector. This year the event is co-sponsored for the first time by the PPA’s Business Media Group, encouraging entry from magazine online brands, web pure plays, start-ups, lead gen and search services, market and customer data analysts, e-classified and recruitment plays.

Other notable companies shortlisted for different awards include: Incisive Media, Yell Group, Emap and the Times Education Supplement.

The Awards will be presented at a gala dinner following the DPA’s Annual Conference at the De Vere Grand, Brighton, on 18 November.
